This game is located in the marvelous Rocky Mountains and you are in training until you find out how to get your first assignment. So you are in the Rockies in a Military boot camp, training and finding all the tools and clothing for this mission. The point of this game is to learn the commands and learn the kind of items you would need in a combat situation. You need to learn how to fire weapons because you will eventually go to war. Next you will learn how to survive by yourself on enemy territory. Though there is no need to worry because it’s not all hard some of the training is really fun. After out have found the items, your next step is to find out where to go. This game is kind of like training for the real training if you ever want to go to military school. My favorite part is the paintball training. Well, what are you waiting for, go get ready for the Inform’s version of Navy, Military, Marines, and Army training all in one!
So far in my game I have three main characters. The first character of course is you. You start off as a military trainee, are pretty strong because you played sports all throughout your life. Now you are out of high school and you wanted to do something good for the country. Your point is to go through training successfully. The second main character in this game is The Man with Secrets. The MWS is a man that can help you if you can find him. He will tell you three things that you need(anything you need) to know. This man is almost like a cheat, he is very helpful, but hard to find. The third main character is a man that you do paintball training with. If you beat him then he will talk to you. He can give you advice through out the training. If you can’t figure something out, you should talk to him.
The goal of this game is to go through military boot camp with out getting kicked out or fail. You first must collect all the tools and items you need in a survival or combat situation. After that you must successfully complete all the tasks that are given to you. Do not under estimate the task because they will appear to be easy, but things aren’t always… as they seem. Also you aren’t just going to train. Every once in a while you will run into trouble like getting attacked or getting picked up randomly to do an assignment. When you are attacked you need to find a weapon and fight off the enemy. Your next choice is to hide, but then your ranking will go down. If you get picked up for an assignment, you must finish whatever it is you need to do and if it is a shooting then you could die or get injured. If you die you will start off in The Sleeping Chamber and loose a couple items and loose a rank. If you get injured then you with start off in the training area and won’t have any weapons, If that ever happens, to get your weapons back you can go to Gun Maintenance and get your weapons back with ID. The main point is to get through training so then you are part of the military and you can move on to Boot Camp 2: The Mission.

California Trip Reflection
Just a couple weeks ago I sent out on a trip to Santa Barbara, California. We were in California for a little over eight full days, but the full trip altogether was a total of ten days. Also, while we were there, we spent part of the trip on an island called Santa Cruz Island, and the other part of the trip we were in Santa Barbara or on a train. I liked this trip a lot, like seeing a new place. Though there were some hard parts to like getting lost on an island. I learned a lot when I was there, too, that I could use anywhere. I am really bummed out that this trip is over because I like being somewhere new.
The most fun part of this trip was going to a place I’ve never been before. I went to California for the first time in my life. The weather was really nice for the whole time we were there and we got to go swimming in the ocean. We also got to go on a train for thirty six hours which I thought was kind of fun because we mainly just chilled and hung out the whole time. The next fun part about the trip was being on an island only with your classmates and one other guy just exploring and doing whatever. I liked having the freedom of being able to go off and explore by myself and not having my parents around or my sister bugging me. It was really relaxing and really exciting looking down at everything from the top of the kind of like foothills.
Even though I had a lot of fun, there were some difficulties along the way. One of those difficulties was getting away from those weird druggies or alcoholic people on the train and in the city of Santa Barbara. One man that was homeless threatened my friend, my teacher and me that he was going to shoot us. It was kind of a weird situation, but luckily we kept walking and ignored him. Another difficult situation that we came upon was getting lost in a canyon. The thing is that we saw a canyon and we weren’t sure where it went, but we went down it anyways because it looked like fun. What we found out later was that it was getting dark and we were going in the wrong direction so we sent two people up one canyon wall and they said it was too dangerous. Next we had to turn around and go back to the trail and now it is dark with no flashlights and we had to get back to camp. Finally we reached camp with what felt like a three hour delay. It wasn’t very fun at all. Though I did learn something from that experience.
After this trip I thought about it a little bit and I found out I did learn a couple things from it. One thing I learned is to saver your money for food when you need it, for example, when you DON’T have any food left, don’t blow it all at the beginning. Second the most important thing I learned is to trust other peoples choices even if you don’t like it, but if It’s smarter then stick with it. I learned that because when we were in the dark on a hill I chose the wrong way. My choice was to follow a fence line down because I went up there before, but it wasn’t really the best way to go. I wanted to go that way because it was faster, but really you never know because you couldn’t see much so maybe you might have to go slow, I don’t know. The next thing I learned was to take deep breathes and thing of good things when something is dangerous or scary because it really works. The first day on the island we climbed a steep, really tall hill and I am slightly afraid of heights I used that technique and I was good all the way to the top. I guess you could say I made it through the challenges that came at me.
Again I have to say I loved this trip. My whole life I have wanted to go to California, and I went there and it was awesome, I even got to go by myself. The really cool thing about Adventure Ed is that I’m pretty sure that no other school get to go places for ten days or even two. This is the best class that you could take in my perspective. This trip was also one of the most fun trips I’ve ever gone on. Though this class sounds like it is a guy hiking class, there were girls in this class. It also is a good workout on your leg and back muscles. I encourage anyone who reads this to go outside and just explore, go walking, see where it takes you and enjoy it.

Leaving For California
This weekend Adventure Ed is leaving for the California trip. In less then four days we go on probably one of the most exciting experiences of our lives. First, we take a 36 hour train ride down to Santa Barbara, then we take bus to the Cadamaran and ride across to Santa Cruise Islandand explore around for a while and do a bunch of day hikes. Next, we go back across to Santa Barbara and take a look around at the College, but when we are on the island I hope to see an Island fox or to because if that is the only place in the world where you can find them, then that would be cool because only a couple people have seen them in person, same, I also want to see some of the other animals only found on the island. Though this trip is going to be fun i don't want to go because it is the las trip and after it's over then Adventure ed is over and I really like hiking and camping out where no one else is around. It's pretty relaxing being away from everyone.

Mars Expedition
NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit moved its robotic arm during the rover's 1,277th Martian day (Aug. 6) for the first time in 20 days.

Mars Exploration Rover Status Report: Situation Improves; Spirit Resumes Using Robotic Arm
Slight clearing of still-dusty Martian skies has improved the energy situation for both Spirit and Opportunity, allowing controllers to increase the rovers' science observations.
Spirit is even being commanded to move its arm for the first time in nearly three weeks. It will position the arm's microscopic imager to take a series of photographs of two soil targets and one rock target. Opportunity's planned science observations are for studies of the atmosphere.
Energy production from solar arrays increased to 295 watt hours on Spirit's 1,276th Martian day, or sol, which ended early Aug. 6, and to 243 watt hours on Opportunity's sol 1,255 which ended midday Aug. 5. The solar panels generate electricity from sunlight. Dust storms obscuring the sun have cut daily output as low as 261 watt hours on Spirit and 128 watt hours on Opportunity in recent weeks, compared with levels above 700 watt hours per sol before the current series of Martian dust storms began in June. One hundred watt hours is what it takes to run a 100-watt bulb for one hour.
The increased output from the solar panels, though slight, has allowed Opportunity to fully charge its batteries and Spirit to bring its batteries to nearly full charge. Also, the temperature of the core electronics module on Opportunity, which was of concern when it fell to minus 35 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 37 Celsius) last week, has increased to minus 28.1 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 33.4 degrees Celsius).
"Conditions are still dangerous for both rovers and could get worse before things get better," said John Callas, rover project manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.
"We will continue our cautious approach to the weather and configure the rovers to maintain a high state of charge on the batteries. Communication sessions with both rovers will remain limited until the skies clear further."

Superbowl Loss
Well as you know the Superbowl was on Sunday. Thee game was between the Giants and the Patriots. I'm not a fan of either team so I be on the Patriots because they had a cooler logo. My cousin in-law and I made a bet. If the Giants won I would have to rake his lawn and if the Patriots won then he would give me his 1000 feet per second pellet gun which I really want one. It was going to be awesome because have to win because they are going for a perfect season. It would be the second perfect season in NFL history. You have to win if you get a chance like that. I guess they didn't want it that bad because if you didn't watch the game, the Patriots lost. It was pretty bad, the Patriots offensive line let Tom Brady get sacked the whole game. I don't even know how they made it to the Superbowl after watching that. Also, they were getting owned by Eli Manning. Though it is pretty cool that both the Manning brothers have won the Superbowl and also one after the other. Anyway, I don't really care anymore because eventhough I have to rake my cousins lawn, I will still get the Pellet gun, so it's cool. I don't really care who won unless if the Patriots won it would be cool to have a perfect season.
